September newsletter – 2025
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In addition, September marks the beginning of the season of fall. Family vacations have ended, school is back is session, and the church launches or relaunches programs and offerings. I have several new things to tell you about.
Service of Baptism, September 14 at 10:30 am. We’re excited to have several children baptized at the service.
Parish Picnic, September 14. This follow the baptism service. Find out ways to help by checking out the sign-up sheets on the narthex table.
Alpha Course, September 17 at 6-8 pm. This engaging and interactive course uses videos and discussion time over nine weeks to talk about the big questions of life: what is life all about? Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? It’s meant for people who have questions about faith and for anyone who would like to brush up on the basics. It’s ideal for inviting people to join you. We’re starting with dinner on Sept. 17. Alpha is free. Please let us know you’re interested by contacting the office.
Ordination of Dr. Sean Jennett to the Diaconate: Saturday, October 11 at 1 pm. Please make a point to join us for this exciting event in the life of our parish.
Vestry News
The fall is stewardship season. The Vestry is beginning plans for the 2026 budget and for an additional appeal. Giving has been consistent, but we’re noticing donated dollars don’t go as far as they used to because of inflation. For example, the electrical work that had to be done to upgrade most of our old system was pricey and brought our cash reserves down considerably. If you are able to help with an extra donation, it would be greatly appreciated.
Personal News
Many of you have heard of the American Anglican Council. It exists to develop healthy leaders, equip healthy Anglican churches, and support healthy governance for dioceses, the Province of the ACNA, and for the global Anglican Communion. Recently I was invited to serve on the AAC’s board, and I accepted. Please keep the AAC and the ACNA is your prayers, as the AAC is an important partner in the mission of our denomination.
There are other things starting and restarting in September to share. Please continue to pray that the Lord Jesus will empower and guide us as a parish family following the Lord Jesus.
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. Pete Falk
Rector
