April 2025
Dear Friends,
In the life of our parish family, it’s hard to beat Holy Week and Easter as the most significant events. I love Christmas. I love celebrating the reason for the reason—the birth of Christ. But his birth was for a reason and the reason was for Christ to die. His final trip to Jerusalem, his last supper with his disciples, his agony, his bogus trials, and his crucifixion are what we remember and contemplate during Holy Week. On Easter Sunday we celebrate the fact that Jesus didn’t stay dead. He is alive, and because he is alive, by faith in him we too have life after death and life before death. We are an Easter people because of what Christ has done. Before we celebrate the Resurrection, we have Christ’s journey to the Cross, which we remember with these special services in Holy Week.

Bishop’s Visit: Adult Confirmation & Reception
Bishop Steven Tighe’s annual visit is Pentecost Sunday, June 8. We have several newcomers who are interested in becoming members who have completed the Discover CTK class. If you are interested in Confirmation or Reception, please contact the office for info on a future meeting. If you haven’t taken the Discover class yet and want to know more about Confirmation or Reception, please see me. There will be two services on June 8: the 8 am traditional Holy Communion service; the second will be the Confirmation/Reception service.
Our next baptism is May 18 at the 10:30 am service. A baptismal preparation meeting is needed prior to the service. Please contact the office for details.
Lighting and Maintenance
Like many older buildings, our church facility has had decades of deferred maintenance. Recently, what we’ve discovered is that the electrical system throughout the building is outdated. Much of the electrical upgrades have been completed. The upgrades are needed to bring us up to present standards and to give us a foundation for projects like improving the lighting inside and outside. Already, we’ve drastically improved the exterior lighting for the main entrance to the church and the parking lot. Now we’re looking at two lighting projects on the inside: improving the parish hall lighting and the Nave’s. I hope we’ll be able to move forward with these projects very soon.
As we make the shift from Lent to Easter, I pray that Christ will continue to bless our parish family with his grace and mercy and keep us focused on his mission to make Christ known.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Rev. Pete Falk
